Job Description – Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking a Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, designing solutions, configuring Business Central modules, and supporting implementation and post-go-live activities.

The role requires strong functional knowledge of Business Central (previously NAV) across finance, supply chain, sales, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.

• Document functional requirements, workflows, and solution design.

• Configure and customize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to align with business processes.

• Support module implementation across Finance, Inventory, Sales, Purchase, Manufacturing, and Projects.

• Assist with data migration and system integrations.

• Prepare test cases, conduct UAT, and resolve defects.

• Deliver end-user training and create user manuals/documentation.

• Provide post-implementation support and troubleshoot issues.

• Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices.

• Act as a bridge between business teams and technical developers.

• Ensure timely communication of project status, risks, and issues.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience working as a Functional Consultant with Dynamics 365 Business Central / Microsoft NAV.

• Strong knowledge of finance, supply chain, sales, and operations modules.

• Experience in requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional documentation, testing, and training.

• Hands-on experience in data migration and integrations with third-party systems.

• Familiarity with Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform is an added advantage.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Certification.

• Prior experience with end-to-end Business Central implementations.

• Experience in industries such as Retail, Manufacturing, or Services.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability.

• Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.

• Good project management and documentation skills.

• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
