About the Role

We are seeking an elite AI Solutions Lead/Manager (Freelance) to join our client's Artificial Intelligence team in Abu Dhabi.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of AI engineers, data scientists, and researchers.
  
  
• Define and execute the AI strategy and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
  
  
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate AI solutions into core products and services.
  
  
• Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality outcomes.
  
  
• Design, develop, and optimize AI/ML models for real-world applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ethical standards.
  
  
• Stay ahead of the curve by integrating the latest AI advancements and technologies.
  
  
• Work closely with data engineers to build and maintain robust data pipelines.
  
  
• Engage with external partners, clients, and stakeholders to understand needs and co-create AI strategies.
  
  
• Lead the development of AI demonstrators and proof-of-concept projects to showcase business value.
  
  
• Represent the organization at AI conferences, workshops, and industry events, strengthening partnerships and visibility.
  
  
• Support commercial activities, bids, and projects with deep technical expertise in AI and data technologies.
  
  
• Drive technical decisions in AI and data projects, ensuring consistency across business, data, application, and infrastructure architectures.
  
  
• Coordinate closely with bid, project, procurement, and engineering teams to support ongoing projects, especially in the UAE.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership and team management experience in AI/ML environments.
  
  
• Strong project management skills (Agile, Scrum, or similar methodologies).
  
  
• Ability to translate complex business needs into impactful AI-driven solutions.
  
  
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  
  
• Ownership mindset with a passion for problem-solving and delivering measurable impact.
  
  
• Experience in partner engagement, client collaboration, or pre-sales AI activities is a plus.
  
  
• Knowledge of defense technologies and equipment (Radar, Command and Control, Optronics, Electronic Warfare) is an advantage.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Science.
  
  
• Proficiency in Python and leading AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  
  
• Experience with cloud technologies for AI deployment.
  
  
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
  
  
• Hands-on experience with MLOps practices for model deployment and monitoring.
  
  
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, big data stacks, and AI technologies.
  
  

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in English is required.
  
  

Other Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
  
  
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development.
  
  
• 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role within AI/ML teams.
  
  
• Demonstrated experience deploying AI models in production environments.
