Senior QA/QC Site Engineer with responsibility for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction works on-site, in compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
Maintains QA/QC processes to ensure the project meets required standards and is delivered successfully.
 
 Quality Assurance (QA) Management: Develop and implement the project-specific Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and procedures; ensure construction activities comply with approved quality standards, specifications, and codes; conduct regular audits of QA processes to identify gaps and recommend improvements; monitor the implementation of quality management systems (QMS) on-site.
 
 Quality Control (QC) Supervision: Supervise and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards; verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet quality benchmarks; conduct inspections and tests at stages such as pre-concreting, post-concreting, reinforcement placement, and finishing works; ensure proper documentation and approval of inspection and test plans (ITPs).
 
 Material Inspection and Testing: Inspect materials delivered to the site to ensure they meet project specifications and quality requirements; coordinate with third-party laboratories for material testing (e.g., concrete compressive strength, soil compaction, steel tensile strength); review and approve material test reports and certificates of compliance; reject defective or non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are taken.
 
 Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality-related activities; prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports to the project manager or quality manager; document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action reports (CARs) and track their resolution; ensure that all quality-related documentation is organized and accessible for audits or reviews.
 
 Coordination with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and consultants to address quality-related issues; liaise with design teams to resolve discrepancies between design documents and site conditions; act as the point of contact for client representatives and regulatory authorities during quality inspections or audits.
 
 Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document non-conformances in materials, workmanship, or processes; investigate the root causes of non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventive actions; ensure non-conformances are resolved promptly to avoid project delays or quality issues.
 
 Testing and Commissioning: Oversee and verify testing and commissioning activities for various systems and components; ensure tests are conducted as per approved ITPs and project requirements; review and approve test results and ensure compliance with quality benchmarks.
 
 Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to site staff, contractors, and workers on quality standards, procedures, and best practices; promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among the project team; ensure personnel are familiar with project-specific quality requirements.
 
 Compliance with Standards and Regulations: Ensure construction activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, BS, or local standards); stay updated on changes to quality standards and construction practices; ensure project meets regulatory and permitting requirements related to quality; identify opportunities to improve QA/QC processes and recommend best practices; conduct lessons-learned sessions at the end of the project to document quality-related challenges and solutions; implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of quality management.
 
 Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure quality processes align with safety and environmental standards; monitor site activities to identify potential quality-related risks that could impact safety or the environment; promote safe practices during quality inspections and testing.
 
 Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
 
 Minimum of 10+ years of extensive experience in QA/QC roles, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects including roads and bridges.
 
 Minimum 2 years working experience in construction supervision on large-scale infrastructure projects within Abu Dhabi.
 
 Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.
 
 Familiarity with international and local codes (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM, BS, ACI, or local standards).
 
 Ability to identify defects, non-conformances, and areas for improvement.
 
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with contractors, consultants, and clients.
 
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address quality-related issues effectively.
 
 Familiarity with QA/QC documentation tools and project management software.
