One of our client based in Sharjah is seeking for senior instrum engineer.

Job Summary

Boffin ME FZC is seeking a highly experienced and versatile Senior Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer.

This pivotal role requires a professional with a proven track record in multiple heavy industrial sectors.

You will be responsible for the end to end delivery of projects, taking ownership from initial design and engineering through to successful project management and completion.

Your broad expertise will be key in driving our projects forward and upholding our reputation for quality and technical excellence in the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering:

* Lead the development and review of P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), instrument datasheets, specifications and wiring/loop diagrams.

* Design, specify and select field instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytical) and control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) suitable for the demanding environments of the GCC region.

* Develop critical control documents, including control narratives, cause & effect matrices and functional design specifications (FDS).

* Perform essential control system calculations (control valve sizing, orifice plate sizing, etc.).

* Design control panels, system network architectures and instrument installation details.

* Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with international standards (ISA, IEC, API) and local/client-specific regulations.

1. Project Management & Execution:

* Manage I&C project packages, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

* Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets and risk assessments for I&C work scopes.

* Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, vendors, contractors and internal multidisciplinary teams.

* Manage the procurement cycle, including technical bid evaluations, vendor document review and leading Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

* Ensure seamless integration with other engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil).

1. Commissioning & Site Support:

* Develop comprehensive commissioning, testing and startup procedures.

* Provide expert on-site support during installation, loop checking, commissioning and plant startup.

* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with instrumentation, control loops and system software logic to ensure rapid project progression.

1. Technical Leadership:

* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers within the team.

* Stay current with emerging technologies in process automation and control.

* Contribute to the development and enhancement of Boffin's internal engineering standards and practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation & Control or Chemical Engineering.

* Experience: A minimum of 6-8 years of progressive I&C engineering experience.

* Sector Experience: Must have demonstrable hands on experience in at least three of the following sectors:

* Water & Wastewater Treatment: Design of plant control systems, pump station automation, SCADA for water networks.

* Oil & Gas: Experience with upstream (wellhead), midstream (pipeline SCADA), or downstream (refinery process control) projects.

* Power Generation: Experience with combined cycle gas turbines (CCGT), boilers or balance of plant (BOP) controls.

* Petrochemical/Chemical: Process control for reactors, distillation columns and safety instrumented systems (SIS).

* Technical Skills:

* High proficiency with major DCS/PLC/SCADA platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell, Yokogawa).

* Strong knowledge of key industry standards (ISA, IEC, NFPA, API).

* Experience with SIL (Safety Integrity Level) studies and SIS engineering is highly advantageous.

* Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, MS office).

* Desired Skills & Competencies

* Project Management: Proven project management capability; PMP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

* Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and root cause analysis skills with a focus on delivering practical, robust solutions.

* Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, from clients to site technicians.

Fluency in English is essential; Hindi language skills are a distinct advantage.

* Drive & Adaptability: A self motivated, results oriented professional capable of working independently and leading initiatives in a dynamic, multi project environment.

* UAE Experience: Prior working experience in the UAE or wider GCC region is strongly preferred.
