Job Title: Senior Network and Security Engineer
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: On-site, Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced LAN and WAN solutions, including SD-WAN and complex multi-routing environments.
- Oversee security infrastructure, configure and manage next-generation firewalls (FortiGate, Palo Alto, FTD), and ensure effective IPS/IDS deployment.
- Optimize wireless platforms (Aruba, Cisco, Ruckus), focusing on RF manipulation and performance in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
- Lead the design and support of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, IS-IS, MPLS), including redistribution and advanced switching technologies (Spanning Tree, VPC, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP).
- Implement and manage NAC/AAA solutions (Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE, 802.1X) and ensure compliance with best security practices.
- Utilize leading monitoring and reporting tools (Riverbed, SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix) to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Act as a key technical communicator, delivering clear, concise, and effective written and verbal updates to stakeholders and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering, preferably supporting enterprise environments onsite.
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms, SD-WAN (Cisco, FortiGate), and next-gen firewalls.
- Advanced proficiency in routing and switching protocols, campus and datacenter networking, and cloud security principles.
- Demonstrated experience with wireless networking, security infrastructure, and multi-pod Cisco ACI environments.
- Strong familiarity with monitoring platforms, ITIL frameworks, and incident management best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively onsite in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WAF and ADC solutions (Citrix, F5, Sophos, Azure GW), and blade-switching platforms.
- Knowledge of Cisco DNA, Meraki, enterprise telephony systems (Cisco, Ribbon), and cloud networking.
- Exposure to large-scale Miral Technologies or similar enterprise environments is a plus.
