Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch SQL Server databases (versions 2012–2019/2022).
- Monitor database health and performance using tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, and DMVs.
- Plan and implement backup and recovery strategies using native SQL Server tools or third-party backup solutions.
- Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication).
- Manage SQL Server security: user permissions, roles, authentication, and encryption.
- Automate routine tasks using T-SQL scripts, PowerShell, or SQL Agent jobs.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues including deadlocks, blocking, slow queries, and failed jobs.
- Work with developers to review and optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Perform capacity planning and ensure scalability and stability of the SQL environment.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and follow change management procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working as a SQL Server DBA in a production environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server versions 2012 through 2019 (or newer).
- Strong experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Solid understanding of SQL Server backup and recovery techniques.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and Active Directory integration.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), or SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is a plus.
