JOB PURPOSE:Direct, manage, and review the activities of corrosion & metallurgy section’s team activities. Prepare and coordinate the management and implementation of the Corrosion Control Strategy covering the corrosion monitoring activities including periodic reporting to provide integrity status of systems and significant trends orlimitations for plants.• Maintain regular review of Corrosion Control Key Performance Indicators. • Direct activities to support or assist in confirming monitoring data or as the result of failures of equipment or trending predictions. • Coordinate RBI assessment programs and liaise with the concerned engineers accordingly, especially with Process in order to properly identify deterioration mechanism, corrosion circu its and establish proper investigation/inspection policies and actions • Ensure conducting metallurgical investigations on equipment failure, which will include process pressure vessels and piping and its ancillaries, fired heaters, rotating machinery components in coordination with Senior Engineers as well as, on occasional basis, with Shareholder’s material engineering specialists. Produce reports on metallurgical failure investigation giving practical recommendations/solutions to prevent similar failures. • Provide technical advice to Plant Management on aspects of material performance, specification and selection, with view to constantly improving equipment reliability through best material selection consistent with fitness for purpose and low cost policy, including the areas of painting, insulation and refractories • Provide advice to departments concerned on aspects of welding fabrication and consumable selections. Develop and qualify new welding procedures and review quality assurance and quality control documents for new equipment fabrication and major projects • Conduct analysis/studies on material identification as required for Plant Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement and other Divisions and advise on alternative suitable materials to be selected to fulfil required duty, in the absence of the available material. Review material specifications for plant modification or new construction. • Develop Corrosion and Cathodic Protection (CP) policies for the control and monitoring of assets such as pressure vessels, process piping, CP systems of underground cooling water pipes, concrete structures, submerge structures and corrosion inhibitors selection and determination of suitable injection points and injection rates • Participate in preparation of CP projects or modifications of existing CP system • Coordinate implementation of corrosion prevention measures in the areas of Cathodic Protection, Corrosion Chemical Inhibition, Materials selection and painting systems as well as insulation systems • Review and establish major deterioration threats and ensure integrity limitations are addressed and propose suitable mitigation techniques • Coordinate and interpret corrosion/inspection monitoring data in database, along with trends and existing mitigation measures. Recommend changes in the corrosion criticality analysis and monitoring/inspection program where appropriate. Ensure all relevant data is entered into the database • Coordinate Root Cause Analysis and failure investigations • Participate in task force teams as required and contribute to solving issues under investigations/study • Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of the fellow employees, by paying attention to safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE requirements. • Take action to INTERVENE and STOP any un-safe activity or non-compliance with HSE requirements,if witnessed, and report the incident – regardless of your position or that of the transgressor Other Information Job Sector : Oil / Gas / Petroleum Required Skills : • 12 years of experience in corrosion & metallurgical analysis, in the Oil & Gas Industry with at least 5 years in a similar Supervisory/Senior position. • Thorough knowledge in carrying out metallurgical investigations in CP equipment failure, potential survey of CP system and field application of corrosion control for plant and equipment • Working knowledge of paint application and control and knowledge of metallographic procedures • Knowledge of best practices in integrity assessment • Knowledge of Risk based inspection, Root cause analysis and Fitness-for-Service • Knowledge of SAP Systems • Strong analytical and problem solving ability • Good knowledge of spoken and written English. • Good interpersonal and people management skill. • Good communication and Presentation Skills • Technical Report Writing Qualification / Education : Bachelor’s Degree OTP * Resend OTP Note : OTP has been sent to registered Mobile Number Email * Please share your information Email * User Type * Category * Description * Apply to TEAM LEADER, CORROSION & METALLURGY
