CTO / Co-Founder with founder equity

About the job
We are supporting a Neobroker startup in stealth mode. Their business model is validated and will begin VC & angel discussions in the next quarter to bring in the first round of pre-seed funding. The team currently consists of 1 founder with specialities in commercial strategy and trading experience. The missing piece of the puzzle is the CTO.
You will be responsible for mapping out and building the first lines of code with a view of leading a technical team once funding has been secured.
Responsibilities
- Own the technological, engineering, and architectural decisions as well as the technical roadmap and work with the co-founder to scale up the company.
- Lead the development, deployment, and delivery of this highly innovative product with consideration towards long term scalability.
- Recruit and build the in-house development team, and also manage the relationships with external technical agencies and freelancers (post-funding)
- Communicate the technology of the company to investors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
Qualifications / Skills
- Motivated to join a start-up as a co-founder
- Computer science degree or similar
- Believe in the long term vision and can manage uncertainty
- You are a self-starting individual, motivated by team success and a sense of fun to be around
- Track-record of delivering well-engineered products with modern technologies, have developed MVPs by yourself and led IT roadmaps.
- Experience building spot-trading engines capable of dealing with a high number of requests in web2 / web3 is a MUST
- Strong communication skills with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience running team(s) of developers
- Ideally some with previous startup experience, and/or a range of experiences within larger companies

- Interested in shariah-compliant products and ethical investing
Compensation
Generous founder equity (negotiable), with a year's cliff and 4 years vesting.
This is a sweat equity-based position until our pre-seed funding is unlocked (Q3/4 2024). Salary upon seed funding will be around $105k
This role could be flexible now (minimum 14-20 hours per week), and in the coming months turn full-time. Please only apply if you have regular time available and can put in the hours. You'll be coming in very early in their journey so passion, commitment and reliability are absolutely essential.
