Information Technology - Dubai / Milan, United Arab Emirates - Full Time JOB DESCRIPTIONGeolog Technologies is looking to add Data Scientists with experience in Machine Learning (“ML”) to their R&D team. Working in a multidisciplinary team, candidates will be involved in development and maintenance of ML models to support automation of critical business process and applications in the upstream sector of the Oil & Gas and Geothermal industries. A solution-oriented mindset is required to develop study-specific data processing algorithms aimed at solving concrete industrial challenges. Job mission: to transform intuitions into algorithms and procedures that will become solutions to tackle clients’ challenges.ACTIVITIES Apply data workflow tasks as extraction, mining, preparation, quality control, KPI optimization, modelling, validation and business insight consideration Apply advanced analytics and ML techniques to multiple data sources Manage autonomously one or more research projects in parallel. Understand clients’ needs and develop solution-oriented proposals Interact and collaborate with people having different backgrounds, inside and outside the research team (chemists, geologists, sales, IT engineers, and software developers) REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES Master Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Geology, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or other computationally intense disciplines. PhD in Statistics, Computer Science or Mathematics is a plus 3+ years of experience in a data science / data analysis position Excellent knowledge of Data Exploration. Fluent in data wrangling and preparation: exploratory analysis, profiling & cleansing, feature selection, feature engineering, segmentation, clustering and PCA Excellent knowledge of Data Analysis, AI, ML and Database & SQL Excellent understanding of Python development with ML and Deep Learning toolkits. Knowledge of other programming languages (eg R, Matlab) is a plus Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment High attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to adapt to dynamic, ever-changing environment Commitment for timely delivery Solution-oriented and able to work in a multidisciplinary team Fluent in English, both written and oral
