The Spotify Editorial team is looking for an outstanding music professional to join their team in Dubai. In this role, you’ll identify and curate the best in music listening and programming experiences for a multitude of moods, moments, and genres; demonstrate a passion for analytics and collaboration; and will have your ear to the ground in the music community. Your work will impact the way the world experiences music.
What You’ll Do
Editorial work & oversight of flagship, frontline, catalogue and mood & activity playlists
Develop and co-create editorial strategy for the MENA(?) editorial team
Identify content gaps and consequently substantiate playlists hypotheses
Lead cross-functional projects from an editorial perspective
Listen to music from a wide range of genres and identify trends
Use cultural expertise to build new programming efforts
Analyze analytics and performance indicators of your own work
Read data to understand the value of the team’s work
Provide a strong, candid editorial voice to build an outstanding user experience
Who You Are
4+ years minimum experience in music programming/curation, or in an audience-focused role, is required
Experience crafting and developing editorial strategy
Experience leading teams of curators and creatives
Passionate about current and past music trends in the MENA region
Strong understanding of the music mainstream, industry and culture of the MENA region
A keen sense of what music is appropriate for any situation
Strong project management skills
Good communicator/teammate who can easily work cross-functionally
The ability to comprehend and efficiently respond to analytics
A strong understanding of, and experience with, Spotify as a user and fan
A friendly, low ego and warm demeanor. We are a very tight-knit group!
A strong propensity to take initiative and absolutely thrive on change
Ability to travel when needed
You possess a fluent written and spoken Arabic, English and French
