Job Objective:
. Primarily this position is responsible for the buying & flow of products/jewellery across the entire supply chain efficiently and within budget to meet business objectives and service levels both locally and internationally. Leading both Commercial (90%)) and Non commercial (10%) Procurement.
Develop, lead and implement the supply chain strategic business plans, covering the entire spectrum from inbound/outbound shipment, fine-distribution and reverse logistics of Gold/ Non-Gold & other valuables
Review and update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing regional & compliance policies, standards, regulations, or laws
Monitor and manage the overall procurement, quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency for the movement and storage of all product and non-stock items
Lead, coach, and develop direct reports and encourage an open and supportive team culture that is service oriented
Design or implement a supply chain that supports strategies to adapt to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
Manage, maintain and develop relationships with suppliers, government agencies or their representatives and vendors including Principals and their suppliers or third-party companies to ensure the on-time and smooth movement of products both internationally and locally in accordance with contractual obligations and service levels
Maintain a network of contacts throughout the logistics sectors both locally and globally to stay abreast of industry advancements technically and processes to continually align with industry best practice
Management of the overall logistics budget, ensuring cost reduction and cost savings across the supply chain and ability to take data driven decisions
Allocation and management of staff resources to meet changing demands and needs in the business in a cost-efficient manner
Also, responsible to do snap-checking all processes for better control and visibility ensuring items are available in store and demand and supply is in complete control
He / She will be responsible to do full risk assessment/ analysis and submit reports to IT Diector for further analysis and action before execution of the project
He/ She must be experienced and knowledgeable not only in the international and domestic carrier and delivery systems but in the movement of freight across shipping docks.
He/ She must know to negotiate with carriers for the best possible rates, and to find ways to continually improve the overall cost of shipping
Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
Monitor supplier performance to access the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
His / Her one of responsibilities will be to do a preliminary investigation in case of shipment gets damaged or stolen during shipping/receiving
He/She should analyze information, evaluate results and submit the best solution to the reporting line for further action.
Required to oversee all accounts related to DC and freight forwarding, and are responsible for record-keeping and reporting to Director SC&L to improve budgetary expenditures for these services
Oversee the Quality team and tagging department
Collaborating with various departments Viz Marketing, IT, Finance etc for smooth flow of business activites and events Procurement – Commercial & Non Commercial Responsible to acquire diamonds/jewelry and material sourcing for store fitouts, head office or regional general requirements and expansion projects. He/ She will work with cross-functional teams including Brand, Product, Merchandising, Project/ Facility management and treasury to turn ideas into the right assortment available for our customers. He/ She will also evaluate suppliers (vendor evaluation), negotiate vendor/supplier contracts, and review (inspect) vendor products for quality and suitability meeting Damas Standards.
Identifies potential vendors/suppliers, gathers and analyzes information on them; recommends prospective vendors.Negotiate, pricing to ensure the best jewelry designs at competitive price meeting our standards could be procured.
Prepares vendor contracts and negotiates terms with vendors
Reviews analyze receiving / inspection documentation; forwards receiving paperwork to Accounting for vendor paymentPerform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Procurement department Key Performance Indicators
Develop and implement the supply chain strategy best suited for the dynamic business environment
Maintain relations with logistics partners to determine the best practice for the movement of merchandise
Risk assessment and analysis of the processes continuouslyOn-time reporting and tracking
Ensure to perform duties in accordance with DAMAS standards and policy
Experience, Qualification and Competencies
At least 10 years’ of experience in supply chain and procurement role within the Jewellery industry, experience in managing a large team
A Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Business/ PG Diploma in Logistics/ Supply ChainAdvanced skills across in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Visio, Project, PowerBI to take data driven decisions
