Description
The New York University Abu Dhabi Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seeks to hire a post-doctoral associate to work in any of the lab research areas, to be involved in the development of open-source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work.
CAMeL's mission is research and education in artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science. The main lab research areas are Arabic natural language processing (orthography normalization, grammatical error correction, morphology tagging, syntax parsing, readability assessment), machine translation, and text analytics. Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 150 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The lab website is . Google Scholar of the lab is at .
The position will target the rank of Post-Doctoral Associate (within 3 years of PhD), or Research Associate (more than 3 years of PhD). A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees with previous experience in natural language processing; or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming skills and machine learning experience; and (c) a research publication record appropriate for the hiring rank. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required.
