About the Job
We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction of our cutting-edge vertical farming projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of the project, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure. This role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, as well as experience in construction and agriculture industries.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive project plan, including scope, objectives, timeline, and budget.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Manage and oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Regularly review and update the project plan, making adjustments as needed to keep the project on track and within budget.
Monitor and control the project's progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
Develop and implement effective change management processes, ensuring that any changes to the project scope are carefully considered and approved by relevant stakeholders.
Coordinate and supervise the construction and installation of facility components, including the shelter, HVAC, dehumidification, and automation systems.
Oversee the commissioning and testing of systems to ensure they meet the required specifications and performance criteria.
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition from construction to facility operation.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on construction and/or agriculture industries.
Proven track record of managing large-scale projects from inception to completion, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices, with PMP certification being a plus.
Experience in hydroponic or vertical farming systems is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address potential issues or risks.
Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficient in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar.
Willingness to travel to the construction site as needed.
