The Senior Development Chemist is a member of Sika UAE Laboratory (Cementitious System). He/she will be responsible for development of products, QC & directly reports to the Laboratory Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Product development and general laboratory work including QC in Cementitious System• Implement working procedures according to Sika, ISO standards & PCP procedures.• Execution of development projects according to local expert team (LET) minutes, PCP & compliance with “Sika Ethics rules”.• Ensure close information exchange with other laboratory staff• Adaptation, improvement and upgrading of product formulations of Cementitious System for local Market.• Evaluate and report about new raw materials, new processes and new packaging materials.• Responsibility for running and maintaining the development projects, QC records, equipment set up and calibration, and other related documentation of the laboratory• Prepares a copy of QC/QA Certificates, MSDS, and other related documentation whenever necessary• Build up the laboratory reference Library on raw materials, finished products and competitor products.• Keep accurate records and maintain good laboratory notebook practice• Prepare and submit to the Laboratory Manager all information, reports, and records required.• Maintains Sika information with appropriate secrecy (internally and externally, adheres to policies regarding confidential information).• Supporting Laboratory Manager and perform other responsibilities and tasks that may be delegated from time to time • A degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science.• 3-5 years experience in the development of cementitious mortars, or similar field• Good communication skills in English• Strong computer and report writing skills in English About The Company Sika is a globally integrated company supplying specialty chemicals markets.
