As a Senior Finance Manager (Reinsurance), your role will be pivotal in the financial operations of our reinsurance department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Reinsurance Finance professional to join the world's largest privately owned insurance brokerage firm in the world, working as part of the MENA region.
Your Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Management: You'll oversee the financial management of our reinsurance division. This includes budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. You'll monitor and drive financial performance to meet our company's objectives and targets.
- Strategic Collaboration: You'll work closely with the CFO and other senior leaders, contributing to the strategic planning process. You'll provide financial insights and assist in creating strategic reports. Additionally, you'll align financial goals with overall business objectives through cross-departmental collaboration.
- Team Leadership: You'll lead the reinsurance finance team, establishing KPIs, defining roles, and providing guidance. Your leadership will create a collaborative, high-performance work environment that encourages professional growth.
- Mentorship and Support: You'll support your team by assisting with complex financial tasks and resolving issues, ensuring seamless operations within the reinsurance finance department. You'll also play an active role in mentoring your team members.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: You'll be responsible for generating and reviewing financial reports, preparing regular comprehensive analyses on financial performance. Your insights and recommendations based on these analyses will shape leadership decisions.
- Cost Optimization: Assess and refine cost control measures to reduce operating expenses where possible to enhance profitability.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity and support operational requirements, communicate with CFO and Finance leaders any requirements or liquidity needs.
- Process Improvement: You'll assess and refine existing processes, systems, and controls within the reinsurance finance function. Your role will involve implementing best practices for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with top cedants and reinsurers will be part of your role. You'll understand their financial needs, negotiate terms, and ensure fruitful partnerships. Your active engagement in client visits, meetings, and industry events will further strengthen these relationships.
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is mandatory.
- At least 7-10 years of overall experience with background in the reinsurance industry, particularly in a finance or accounting role, is crucial.
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting, including preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insightful recommendations to executive management.
- Capability to align financial goals with business strategy, contribute to long-term financial planning, and provide high-level analysis.
- Experience in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a finance team effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Reinsurance Knowledge - Comprehensive understanding of reinsurance concepts, contracts, and industry-specific regulations across the region.
- Reporting and Compliance - Experience in generating various financial reports, including monthly performance reports and strategic reports.
- Relationship Building - Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with top cedants and insurers.
- Language Skills - Proficiency in English and Arabic is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certifications like CFA or CPA.
- Language Skills - French is desirable, given our diverse client base.
