Job Summary
As Service Equipment Assembly Technician, NOV Downhole your primary job role is to assemble, test and calibrate new equipment such as, but not limited to, Torquemasters, Mini tongs, Bucking units, Motor testers and Jar testers to the highest level of quality in accordance with all NOV assembly instructions and procedures. All work tasks must be undertaken, and equipment operated adhering to all Job Safety Analysis and related Risk Assessments. The Service Equipment Assembly Technician role has a broad range of tasks involved with individuals taking responsibility for understanding and conforming to PPE, Quality and HSE Policies. The job role requires good communication skills and broad technical knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all Downhole HSEQ Policies and procedures and ensure PPE guidelines are followed.
Extensive safe and efficient use of all workshop Service and lifting equipment following all applicable risk assessments and JSA's.
With minimum supervision, prepares and assembles the Torquemaster in accordance with the product and process specification.
Sets up and operates the assembly equipment, tools, and fixtures necessary to assemble, inspect and test the products.
Sets up and monitors electrical assembly and makes recommendations for improvement in process and product quality.
Works with assembly supervisor and QA to ensure product quality, by identifying and resolving assembly issues.
Records and documents all assembly related inspection and test results, materials, tools.
Carry out other work-related improvements as required by the supervisor.
Maintains safe, clean working environment in compliance with the policies.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential
Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalent
Previous experience within similar job role
Knowledge of Hydraulic, Mechanical and electrical systems and schematic drawings
The ability to read engineering drawings. • Knowledge of downhole service equipment and maintenance procedures
Computer literacy including good knowledge of Microsoft application.
Good communication skills (In English)
Practical training on all essential workshop equipment including TM unit, overhead crane, forklift, gas safety, abrasive wheels.
Desirable
Technical knowledge in machine assembly
Competent use of measuring equipment
Experience of Service Quality Systems and processes
Knowledge of NOV Service-related applications such as TAT, JDE etc.
