Technical Safety Engineer – Gas Treatment Plant Project • Identification, assessment and management of major hazards in a range of activities across the business.• You will work closely with the organization including, other discipline engineers, project teams, operations and maintenance teams.• Coordinate Project EPC Phase, maintenance of the safety cases and the supporting safety studies.• Assessing and applying self-various tools/studies such as: HAZIDs/HAZOPs, ENVID, SIL fire and explosion analyses, and Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) etc.• Lead the identification of any measures that can be implemented to reduce the risks• Ensure that the safety engineering and hazard management standards are adhered to or that requested deviations to these standards are assessed.• Update or development of new standards.• Liaise with design teams and perform safety screening for design documentation• Initiate and participate in technical investigations, inspections and audits• Conduct or attend project risk workshops• Prepare safety engineering and legislative compliance studies• Identify foreseeable hazards and asset modifications so appropriate action can be taken during design and construction• Initiate measures to reduce risks associated with the design to ALARP• Input to company technical safety performance standards• Define and maintain company safety design standards• Prepare safety case review requests, health safety and environmental plans including environmental impact and mitigation forms• Provide advice to projects and lead engineers regarding technical safety / safety matters• Review documentation circulated by other disciplines or vendors for compliance with safety legislation and client requirements• Ensure major hazards are properly assessed, evaluated and managed• Undertake visits both onshore and offshore as required • Master in Safety/Process Engineering with a degree in industrial risk management. A post graduate qualification in safety engineering or hazard and risk management would be an advantage.• Experience in the gas or petrochemical industry together with a thorough understanding of technologies and practices as they relate to oil and gas-production facilities.• Understanding the requirements of effective hazard and risk management in an operating environment and are keen to develop their career in this area.• Self-motivation, strong communication and interpersonal skills, a good customer focus, are all key attributes we will be looking for in successful candidates.• Excellent written and verbal skill in English is required.• Knowledge of fire water system design, blast calculation & mitigating measures, overpressure protection measures, inherently Safer Design techniques.• Work experience in green field Gas treatment plant project• Minimum work experience as a Safety Engineer 15 years.Will require Business Trips to Iraq About The Company Orion Engineering was established in 1987 to supply Engineering personnel to the Oil and Gas Industry.
