Job Description
In compliance with Physical Therapy Standards of Practice, the Physical Therapist offers and coordinates comprehensive physical therapy care to patients by properly utilizing evaluation, planning, education, and treatment plan implementation. Documentation, scheduling, family training, attendance at rounds, interaction with the Interdisciplinary Team, participation in staff meetings, ordering supplies, and contributing to continuous quality control and performance improvement are some of the indirect patient care activities that are performed. Incumbents are also responsible for effectively responding to legal, patient rights, safety, maintenance, and emergency situations; participating in continuing education, staff development, and self-directed learning; and overseeing the performance of staff, aides, students, and volunteers, as needed.
Qualifications:Patients should be provided with information and training to help them cut down on their drug usage and avoid surgery.
Understands multiple payer reimbursements and efficiently allocates therapy resources based on resident goals and outcomes connected to discharge destination.
To get further patient information, make treatment program changes, and integrate physical therapy with other aspects of the patient’s health care, the therapist consults with a physician and other practitioners.
Prevent impairments, functional restrictions, and disabilities from developing, causing symptoms, and progressing as a result of diseases, disorders, ailments, or injuries.
Encourage the client’s development toward mutually agreed-upon goals and a discharge plan by providing advice and consultation to the client’s family and/or other caregivers, as needed.
Perform initial and continuous physical therapy evaluations in accordance with APTA and state recommendations.
Create a Care Plan, hold patients responsible for following it, and alter the timetable and plan as needed based on the patient’s progress.
Tests and evaluates a patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capabilities, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, as well as keeping track of the results in order to build or amend treatment programs.
Instructs, stimulates, and aids the patient with non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and the use of assistive and supportive equipment including crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Restore, maintain, and encourage not only good physical function, but also ideal wellness, fitness, and quality of life when it comes to mobility and health.Skills:An APTA-accredited physical therapy degree is required.
The candidate should possess a strong sense of leadership as well as a strong desire to learn and enhance his skills.
Experience in a rehabilitation, Orthopedics, or medical/surgical setting that demonstrates achievement of the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities is sought.
Empathy, compassion, and the capacity to urge patients to push their boundaries in a responsible, safe, and productive manner are all important qualities.
A minimum of one year of experience in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or inpatient/outpatient setting is necessary.#J-18808-Ljbffr
