Job Summary:
This position of Laboratory Technician in propellant and thermal insulations encompasses a spectrum of responsibilities, from testing raw materials to evaluating post-material performance, ensuring rigorous adherence to work instructions and meeting the exacting requirements of rocket motor specifications. The incumbent is tasked with establishing and optimizing testing protocols, meticulously monitoring quality standards, conducting thorough in-process inspections, promptly addressing any technical issues that arise, and upholding the cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory instruments. These duties are all undertaken with the overarching objectives of enhancing product quality, safeguarding operational safety, and optimizing output efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Read and interpret Work instruction/Procedures of each process of testing ablation materials of rocket motors
- Set up each job by arranging and setting up all equipment/instrument.
- Ensure incoming product/raw materials quantity against each product/raw materials specifications and quality of the product/raw materials is as per the work instructions
- Run equipment/instrument process by preparing and loading the parts in to appropriate jigs/fixture
- Select and install correct program against the process by adjusting machine controls as per the product requirement
- Set up and calibrate testing equipment and instrumentation.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials and processes to ensure adherence to standards.
- Implement quality control measures and protocols throughout the testing process.
- Ensure all machines and equipment are in working condition
- Follow preventive measures of all machines and equipment as per schedule
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions or procedural challenges to maintain testing continuity
- Ensure all safety guidelines are strictly adhered to, wearing all PPEs as required
- Collaborate with team members to optimize testing protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to analyse test data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Maintain the latest version of all documentation as per requirements. Maintain all record as per process requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and observations
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing test findings and analysis and maintain organized records of testing documentation for future reference and audit purposes

Minimum: High School Diploma in chemistry, materials, etc. Or equivalent
